crikey, the rare, non-wed. post
lots of stuff has been going on this week, namely senior retreat and the excon retreat.
so ill break it down
senior retreat:
wed - got to school at 7 for tennis pictures then got on the bus to go to athens for the retreat, talked to erin and brian on the way there, and no one could decide on what movie to watch so beauty and the beast was put in, it was pretty fun to watch. when we got there we had free time so had a nice long game of ultimate frisbee which is incredibly fun, but noone there really knew how to play so it was fairly tame compared to the games that go on at church. had some talks, lunch, more free time. more talks/activities. i had a good small group, it was me, sara, sydney, brad, gili, emily, anna, rachel h, and jeff was our group leader
thurs - got up had breakfast, some small group and large group talks and stuff, after lunch we had a 2 hour game of soccer, it was also extremely fun. they had a talent show thing which was awesome. my group each did impressions of teachers, i got to do mr rist. dan played brick on his guitar and it was very good, such a great song. stahl and brian played drums on some buckets and it was really cool too. at night we had a bonfire and smores and everything! i wanted to stay by the fire but erin and sydney and brian wanted to go back to the dorms to play cards or talk or something so they ended up literally carrying me. it was funny. then a few people started throwing stuff into the fans, also fun for the easily amused
fri - got up and had breakfast again, then we had mass then lunch and got told a story. then we went back, lion king was playing on the bus but i slept most of the ride home. got back and had my mom come pick me up.
and that was the end of the senior retreat, it was much fun and hopefully ill remember more of the fun stuff that happened later but thats it for now.
after i got home friday i finally got to go play tennis with emily, it was alot of fun and i didn't do as bad as i thought i would. we didn't play an actual game but just hit back and forth and talked, which is alot more enjoyable than actual practices. no pressure and just having fun instead of "i need to beat him or drop a rank." will definately have to go play again. richland has really nice courts too, like ALOT better than woodhaven.
THEN, i had the excon retreat saturday
7- went to church and we went to go pray at the abortion clinic, the first two we went to were closed but the third one we went to was really crowded, both in the girls going to the clinic and the amount of people praying outside.
i didn't have a watch so i dont know what time it was but after whatever came before it. - went to joe and valeries and did a team building exercise, of course my group won, woo go group 3 haha. then joe did a think with a jar and rocks and sand and water which has metaphorical implications. then had some silent reading time, sitting outside with trees all around and hearing the light drizzle fall on all the fallen leaves was really peaceful. then we had lunch. after lunch we had some free time so ofcourse ultimate frisbee was played. it was a bit wet so i got kinda muddy. no one scored until the last 2-3 minutes when chris, brian, lucas, and i got it the whole way downt the field and scored, it was very nice. after all the running and general insanity that is frisbee, we went on the crosswalk. it was incredible, we walked with it down parts of 1709 and davis, carrying the cross just gives you this feeling that you really need to experience for yourself. after that matt gave a little talk and then we went to danishas and ate pizza and watched cool runnings, then we all just sat around and talked for awhile.
today was quite the change of pace, i slept in to about 12:30 then went to chipotle with my family. it was really nice out so i took the top and door off my jeep and drove to church. stayed for youth night, we had a chastity talk which went really well. afterwards a few of us played some frisbee (i play frisbee alot if you haven't noticed) and just stood around and talked
this week was awesome
